Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript has not been published before, and is not under consideration for publication in another journal (or as explained in comments to the Editor).
  • Manuscript files in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document format.
  • References that can be accessed online have their URLs written down.
  • Manuscripts are typed with single spaced text; font 12; use italics, not underlined letters (except URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures and tables are placed in the text in the expected places, not grouped separately at the end of the text.
  • The manuscript follows the stylistic and bibliographic rules required in the Author's Guide.

Author Guidelines

Research Articles

Research articles are original research articles conducted in the field of Ophthalmology. The research article format consists of title and abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion and bibliography written in Indonesian or English.

Case Report

Case reports are articles about cases in the field of Ophthalmology that are considered interesting and important to disseminate. The format for case reports is title, abstract, introduction, cases, discussion and bibliography written in Indonesian or English.

Manuscript Submission Instructions

To be able to submit articles, authors are expected to contact the editorial team of the ophthalmology journal via the website www.jurnaloftalmologi.org.

The Ophthalmology Journal does not accept articles that have already been published or are in the process of being submitted to another journal, by signing the statement letter provided. If it is discovered that the article has been published in another journal, then in the next edition of the Journal of Ophthalmology the article will be annulled. Articles will be discussed by experts according to the appropriate scientific field (peer review) and the editorial board. Articles that need formatting or content improvements will be returned to the author for correction based on the editor's and peer reviewer's notes. The author will receive information about the article via e-mail address. Research articles must obtain ethics committee approval.

Article Writing

Articles are written in Indonesian or English on paper measuring 21 x 29.7 (A4 paper), with an edge distance of 2.5 cm. The maximum number of pages is 10 pages. The contents of the article are typed in Arial font size 11 with 1.15 spacing. Writing in published 2 column format. Each page is numbered sequentially starting from the title page to the last page. Articles are submitted in doc format. or docx.

Article Title

Attached on the title page is the title of the article, the full name of the author without an academic degree, the author's affiliated institution, as well as the name, address and e-mail of correspondence. The title of the article is written briefly, specifically and clearly, and reflects the content of the article. The title does not exceed 14 words or 200 characters, written in capital letters at the beginning of each word (title case), with Arial font size 14, 1 spaced, and centered.

Abstract and Keywords

Abstracts are written concisely and clearly so that readers can understand the contents of the article without having to read the entire article. Abstracts are displayed in a single column according to the format of introduction, methods, results and conclusions with a maximum of 250 words using Arial letters size 10 with 1 spacing. Keywords do not exceed 5 words that can help compile the index in alphabetical order.

Table Presentation

Tables are arranged sequentially with numbers according to the mention in the text, each table is given a short title written in title case using Arial letters size 10 and bolded. Explanations and abbreviations are placed in table captions or footnotes, not in the title. The maximum number of tables is 5 and the tables to be uploaded into the system are converted in image format (.jpg, .jpeg, .png or .bmp). Tables are created without displaying column lines, while row lines are displayed to separate the table description title and end the table contents. The text in the table is typed using Arial font size 9.

Image Presentation

Photos/images must be numbered sequentially according to their appearance in the text. The image title is placed below the image, written in title case with bold size 10 Arial letters. The maximum number of photos/images is 5 and the images to be uploaded into the system are converted in image format (.jpg, .jpeg, .png or .bmp). Photos of people who may be identifiable must be accompanied by written permission.

Statistical Methods

Statistical methods can be explained in detail in the methods section. Define statistical terms, abbreviations, and symbols used. Determine the computer software used.

Thank-you note

If necessary, thanks can be given to research contributors who helped prepare the article, including providers of technical support, funding, or institutional support without stating the title.

Bibliography

The bibliography uses Arial font size 10, 1 space. References are written according to Vancouver writing rules, given serial numbers according to the order of appearance in the article. A maximum of 6 authors must be given their names. If there are more than 6 authors, write the names of the first 6, followed by et al. The minimum number of references is 15, published in the last 10 years. Avoid using abstracts as references, if there is material that has been sent for publication but has not yet been published, refer to it by mentioning unpublished observations (unpublished article). Authors are advised to use reference management software in writing quotations and bibliography, such as: Mendeley®, EndNote®, or Zotero®.
